I was down in Galveston, Texas a few weeks ago, photographing the local scene. Here are a few shipyard photographs from Galveston Bay. Had a great time capturing some of the industrial areas. I ran my first HDR image through Photoshop CS5’s new HDR pro utility. I must admit that the program did a very good job of producing a “believable” HDR image. I ran four 14-bit Nikon D700 NEF images through the utility and was impressed with how quickly CS5 rendered the preview. So far, so good. I had a free day between workshops for the Nikonians Academy and decided to head down to Galveston, TX for some photos. The weather is awesome and the town is a great place to take photos. Here are some pics. One of the greatest things about running photo workshops in Dallas, Texas is all of the food! Dallas has one of the highest restaurant per capita rates in the USA. BBQ, steak houses, Mongolian grills, delis, pasta, seafood, Tex-Mex, burgers, wings … you name it. I had a great time finding new restaurants. I think [...] I’m in Dallas Texas to lead workshops with the Nikonians Academy. The 100 degree temperature here is quickly reminding me why I live in Washington State! The workshop venue is pretty close to a big concentration of restaurants and one of them, Pappasito’s Cantina, had the perfect remedy for a hot day … pink lemonade! [...] |
